Sun Dance - Marqjc
As the Spring emerges from the dark cloak of winter, it’s wonderful to have spent a week contemplating the power and joy of the Sun on
Sun Dancer
Luminescent Aurora,
She emerges through the hazy horizon
In the winking eye of the new day,
Greeted by golden rivulets of bird song.
Her face flickers with a thousand faces -
At once she is Surya, Ra, Bastet, Apollo,
The threads of her Leonine mane glistening
With the light-soaked dew drops of dawn.
Wings raised in flight,
She skims the edge of clouds,
Her flaming tigress gaze radiating
From the core of Horus’s dark orb iris.
Roaring at midday,
She throws herself through space,
Limbs molten liquid,
Sinews aquiver with volcanic life force,
Her feet a crackle of castanets,
Dancing across scorched earth,
Caressing parched skin
With a burning kiss.
In the charred embers of the dying day,
She yawns in technicolour streaks,
Reddening rays roam sultry skies
As her skirts swirl in slow circles.
The stars jump out of their skycloth
As she gives way to her lunar sister.
Darkness clings to the horizon
As she dips beneath its arc.
She stands at the threshold of life,
Where light burns so intense
In iridescent white heat
It becomes shadow.
Between her fingers, the moments run
One over another in sandy transitions;
Entranced we orbit her daily dance
Until our short candle flame is done.
Beautiful with fantastic imagery also.
